Questions/comments from Plan Commission
-We need to find out where the floodway boundary is.
Mr. Alpaslan – We cannot determine from the FIRM maps if it is in the floodway or not.
Ms. Riganti – We do have GIS Data showing the floodplain boundary, but not floodway.
The floodplain boundary is not survey accurate.
-We need assurance that we are not putting people in harm’s way. Safety is a concern. It
may not be in floodway, but we need to find out.
Other Business
Committee reports
Mr. Greatens announced that a Zoning Code Review Committee meeting needs to be scheduled
to discuss a proposed Text Amendment.
The members present requested that Mr. Greatens email them with proposed dates.
Ms. Riganti stated that public records requests from Plan Commission members should follow
proper protocol. The fee will be waived for Plan Commission members. Plan Commission
members should fill out the public records request form. Also, regarding emails from members
of public bodies; if emails are to the entire Commission or a majority, the City Clerk should be
copied in those emails.
Mr. Halpert asked about the process and if they should fill out the form and send it to the City
Clerk.
Ms. Riganti – Yes. You can copy in the Department of Community Development.
Ms. Carr stated that she does not always get a prompt response from the City Clerk.
Ms. Riganti – If you copy in the Department of Community Development, we will respond
within three days unless circumstances prevent a response within that time period.
Mr. Lai provided an update regarding the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee. Staff would
like to schedule a joint session between the Plan Commission and City Council to discuss the
th
update to the Comprehensive Plan. Dates proposed were April 25, prior to the City Council
th
meeting and April 27 prior to the Plan Commission meeting.
Mr. Halpert – An evening meeting would be preferred.
thth
Ms. Carr – Prefer the 27 rather than the 25.
tm;šE
