The City expects this “green” practice to improve tire life and fuel economy which will translate <br />into reduced tire maintenance/replacement, reduced long-term fuel costs and decreased <br />greenhouse gas emissions for the City. Apart from the transformation to nitrogen-filled tires, the <br />City now uses biodiesel 11 fuels in diesel-fueled city trucks. Biodiesel is simple to use, <br />biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. Additionally, biodiesel <br />exhaust has a less harmful impact on human health than petroleum diesel fuel.
