There are only
5 vacancies remaining (Mayor Adams 1; Michael Glickert 1; Lynn Ricci 2; Arthur
Sharp 1). The Commission will hold their first meeting on October 16 and
continue to meet through May. Community Forums or Town Hall Forums are
scheduled to proceed in January. Focus on four areas: Population/Citizens,
Revenue/Government; Look/Image/Relationships of University City; and
Development. The redevelopment areas identified for consideration are 1, 3, 9,
17, and 19–the Commission Chairs would like to limit the discussion to five focus
areas so that the feedback on each can be more meaningful. The boundaries of
the redevelopment areas are as follows:
?
Redevelopment Area 1-Interstate 170 and Olive Boulevard;

?
Redevelopment Area 3-Olive Boulevard between North and South Road
st
and 81 Street;

?
Redevelopment Area 9-Olive Boulevard and Chamberlain Avenue
between Kingsland Street and Sutter Avenue;

?
Redevelopment Area 17-McKnight Road on the east, Delmar Boulevard
on the south, Lepere Street to the west and Delmar Boulevard on the
north;

?
Redevelopment Area 19-Delmar Boulevard and Delcrest Drive.

I identified these areas from the Comprehensive Plan because I believe they
have received the most interest. If you would like to see other areas considered
please, let me know what you would like replaced. City Management Intern
Colleen Ragan has been working diligently to compile data for the vision question
that will be used at the town hall forums.
