<br /> <br />CITIZEN PARTICIPATION ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Mae Etta Weston, 1595 Mendell Dr. <br />Since Ms. West was inadvertently not called to talk on Bill 8895, she was given time to <br />speak now, as no votes were taken on the bill yet. Ms. Weston stated that she did not <br />understand the need for an arborist and was not even sure if she knew what an arborist <br />was or what his qualification were. Ms. Weston noted that everyone is at a different stage <br />in life and at different economic levels. She felt that if one used a company that was <br />licensed and bonded that should be adequate. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced and invited everyone to attend a dedication of a bench at <br />Heman Park in honor of Sidney Schneider, October 16, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot expressed her pleasure in the Cole County Circuit judge overturning the law <br />passed by the legislature, that a voter must show an unexpired government issued photo <br />ID: Missouri driver’s license, a non-drivers ID, a passport, or Military ID, sighting a burden <br />on the elderly and poor. She said that voting was a right, not a privilege. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot also announced that a new commission would be formed for the purpose of <br />saving the Sutter Meyer house. She invited anyone interested to be on this committee, to <br />contact her. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot also recommended that Council study the proposal to make the wireless <br />microphone system portable. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Joyce Pumm <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />
