To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council

From: Julie Feier, City Manager

Date: October 27, 2006

Subject: Weekly Update

MSD
is moving forward with a project at Ferguson and Raymond. The project
will include assisting homeowners with the necessary repairs to separate the old
combined sewer systems. Once the project is complete, it will alleviate the
pressure caused by heavy rains in the sanitary sewer system causing back up in
residential basements. Smoke and dye testing will be performed in the area to
identify problem areas, interior inspections will be required and private storm
water drains will need to be relocated. A direct mailer has gone to the
residences; a sample letter is attached for your information.

The orange X on trees in the right-of-way along County roads indicates trees
slated for removal by the County. The County plans to remove the trees in the
street trees
coming months. They have a new policy regarding or trees in the
right–of-way that indicates they will NOT be replacing the trees that are removed.

Lights ON!
Ameren has been working weekends to bring our streetlights back
up. We still have many streets to go –you received the list two weeks ago. They
will not be working this weekend, but will return the weekend of November 4.
809 Leland (multiple lights)
755 Heman – New light pole installed
7330 Olive – New light pole installed
7010 Corbitt– New light pole installed
6760 Vernon – repaired lights U2261 & U2262
6860 Julian – Repaired Light
1422 Farris – New light pole installed
6843 Pershing – still requires directional bore for new wire
Next week: 2 @ Midland & Cornell & possibly Crest
