<br />BASEMENT FINISH <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> Basement Finish <br />Permit requirements for a <br />: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1) 2 sets of drawings that shows the existing and the proposed space layout. <br />2) If walls are being built, provide a wall section that shows the stud size, <br />spacing, top plate size, bottom plate size and type of sheathing being used <br />to cover the studs. <br />3) Label all the spaces (i.e. Bathroom, bedroom, family room etc…) <br />4) If a bathroom is being created the following information must be included on <br />the drawings: <br />a. The distance from the face of the wall to the centerline of the toilet <br />(15” minimum required). <br />b. The distance in front of the toilet (21” minimum is required). <br />c. Show the dimensions of the shower, where applicable. A dimension <br />of 30”x 30” minimum is required. <br />d. Show electrical outlets, switches and light/fan fixture. <br /> 5) Provide information about the ceiling height. <br /> 6) Verify that at least one operable window or door that leads directly to the <br /> exterior exists. The window must be at least 5.0 sq. ft. with a maximum <br /> Bottom sill height of 44” above the floor. <br />Special items of consideration <br /> : <br />Tempered glass is required in the shower door (if it is glass). <br />?? <br />The bottom plate of a stud wall must be treated if it is placed against <br />?? <br />concrete. <br />
