Session 1668, Minutes <br />June 3, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />353 R.S.MO. 1986 AND THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE PARKVIEW GARDENS RE- <br />HABILITATION AREA; FINDING THAT REDEVELOPMENT IS NECESSARY AND IN THE <br />PUBLIC INTEREST; AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF TAX ABATEMENT; AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THIS <br />ORDINANCE. <br />A bill was introduced by Councilmember Munkel, entitled: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PARKVIEW <br />GARDENS REHABILITATION II, L.P. FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE PARKVIEW <br />GARDENS REHABILITATION AREA; FINDING SAID PLANS TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH <br />CHAPTER 353 R.S.MO. 1986, AS AMENDED, AND THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE <br />PARKVIEW GARDENS REHABILITATION AREA; FINDING THAT THE REDEVELOPMENT <br />OF SUCH PROPERTY IS NECESSARY AND IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST UNDER CHAPTER <br />353 R.S.MO. 1986, AS AMENDED, AND IS IN THE INTERESTS OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, <br />SAFETY, MORALS AND GENERAL WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF UNIVER- <br />SITY CITY; AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF TAX ABATEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THIS <br />ORDINANCE; AND CONTAINING A SEVERAILITY CLAUSE." <br /> <br />The bill was assigned No. 8275 and given its first reading. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson said she was concerned about the condition of the Council for the Blind Thrift Shop on <br />Olive Boulevard at North and South. The property looks messy and is not well kept up, she said. Mr. <br />Munkel asked if there were ordinances that could be applied. Ms. Glickert returned to the microphone <br />and suggested the City could begin with the sign, since it does not comply with the Sign Code. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMF. NT <br /> <br />Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 8:50, noting that Council will meet in Room 6 to conclude the <br />earlier meeting that started at 7 p.m. this evening (notices were posted on May 31). <br /> <br />Dolores A.
