AMENDED RESOLUTION The matter of constructing parking facilities at 6319 Delmar Blvd. was considered on May 20, 1996. After a general discussion, Councilmember Schoomer offered a resolution which was adopted. Since then, it has been recommended that the benefit district be enlarged to include lots and parcels of land at 6600, 6604-6608, 6605 and 6610 Delmar Blvd. The matter of constructing parking facilities at 6319 Delmar Blvd. has been considered fudher. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of University City, Missouri, deems it necessary to improve parking facilities at 6319 Delmar Blvd. in the City of University City, Missouri; by removing all obstructions in the path of the proposed construction; by bringing the proposed improvement to a grade to fit existing improvements as closely as practicable; by construction a parking facility containing 139 spaces for motor vehicles; and by doing all other work necessary to complete the project in a satisfactory manner and in accordance with the City's standard specifications for this type of work; that the "Whole Cost' of such improvement is approximately Two Million, One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($2,150,000), including all expenses incurred by the City for surveys, plans, engineering services, etc; that part of the Final 'Whole Cost" shall be paid for by a special tax or assessment levied against a benefit district which shall include the lots and parcels of land at 6265-6277, 6301,6309, 63 10-6318, 6315, 6329-6335, 6346- 6370, 6372-6380, 6388-6394, 6500, 6501-6525, 6600, 6604-6608, 6605 and 6610 Delmar Blvd., at a rate of Three Dollars and Eighty Cents ($3.80) per square foot of ground floor area; that total cost to said property owners is approximately Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000); that special tax bills evidencing such assessment shall be issued; and that the City shall pay for the balance of the "Whole Cost,' which is estimated to be One Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,800,000), out of available City Funds; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of University City, Missouri, finds and declares such improvement necessary and in the public interest; and that a public hearing be held with respect to the improvement of parking facilities at 6319 Delmar Blvd. on the eighteenth day of November, 1996, in the City Hall, 6801 Delmar Blvd. in the aforesaid City.
