<br />Mayor’s Task Force on University City’s Bike & Walkability <br /> <br />6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767, Fax: (314) 863-9146 <br />Approved <br />Meeting Notes –University City Bike and Walkability Task Force <br />November1, 2011 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM <br />Location:University City Centennial Commons –Board Room <br />Attendees:John Watson; Jerry Breakstone; Beverly Jane Spudich; Margaret Johnson; Carol <br />Wofsey, Linda Fried; Lynnette Hicks(City of University City); Sarah Hanly; ArnoPerlow; <br />Kevin Neill (Trailnet); <br />Absent: Nick Fredericksen; Jan Adams; Jane Schaefer <br />1) Approval of agenda <br />Approved, with the proviso that the addition of a need to discuss the Master Plan with respect to <br />when it would be finalized, and steps to that finalization <br />2) Approval of minutes of previous meeting and any admin issues <br />Approved, with the proviso that there was a typographical error in the date of the minutes which needs to <br />be changed <br />3)Reports on walk/bike related actions in U City—Sarah and Margaret reported that they attended <br />a meeting with H3 on October 14 prior to the Plan Commission meeting of that month. At that meeting, <br />Margaret and Sarah were shown a more complete grid, some of which were incorporated into the <br />October PlanCommission version of the Mater Plan. It was not clear which one, and the consensus of <br />the meeting was that the Task Force needs to get a copy of what was presented to the Plan <br />Commission. <br />Carol and Sarah attended the Safe Routed to School session of the Flynn Park PTO on October 24. <br />Sarah stated that another session will be held at Jackson Park on November 9 at 7 PM. It does not <br />appear that programs are being discussed at Pershing or Barbara Jordan. Sarah suggested that the <br />PTO Council could be useful for this. <br />4)Complete Streets Legislation—Margaret reported that she and Jan Adams met with Mr. Walker, <br />the City Manager, to show him the proposed legislation. He responded favorable, and it is now in the <br />process of being circulated to staff and the City attorney for review and comments. Margaret will follow <br />up to see how the review is progressing. <br />5) Working group reports/ planning for the Task Force final report. Margaret pointed out that the Task <br />Force report will consist of the following initiatives: <br />The Master Plan as formulated by H3 <br />Safe Routes to Schools project <br />Pedestrian walk issues around Centennial Commons <br />Education Programs <br />Law enforcement <br />Complete Streets legislation <br />Ongoing Commission/Board/other citizen oversight and/or input <br />Discussion then ensued regarding the status of the Master Plan drafting and particular issues, including <br />the following—intersection treatments; Gannon; Lewis Park; private subdivision; Blackberry-Groby- <br /> <br />
