Approval of Minutes December 14, 2011 2. Melville Avenue – Special Parking needs At the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, the request for special parking needs on Melville Ave - Loop South area was discussed by the Commission. The Public Works & Parks Department is presenting a proposed location for the disable parking space. Please see attached sketch showing proposed location of the Disable Parking Space. Another request was discussed to add six (6) parking meters on the east side of Melville Ave, south of the four (4) existing parking metered spaces located south of the alley. It has been determined that the location of this request is zoned as residential per our Municipal Code, and therefore would not qualify for new parking meters. 3. Forsyth Blvd and Lindell Blvd intersection. At the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, the request to review the sight distance at the intersection of Forsyth Blvd with Lindell Blvd was discussed. The Commission requested a traffic analysis to determine the feasibility of an all way Stop Sign control at this intersection to alleviate the issue. The criteria to warrant a stop sign at this location were reviewed. The University City Police Department (UCPD) reported that from 2009 to date there were six (6) reported traffic accidents at the intersection.
