Prior to the meeting, we recommend that you <br />visit the site(s). Please call (314) 505-8568 or email agutierrez@ucitymo.org to confirm <br />your attendance. <br /> <br />AGENDA FOR THE MEETING <br /> <br />1. Approval of Minutes December 14, 2011 <br /> <br />2. Melville Avenue – Special Parking needs <br /> <br />At the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, the request for special parking <br />needs on Melville Ave - Loop South area was discussed by the Commission. The Public <br />Works & Parks Department is presenting a proposed location for the disable parking <br />space. Please see attached sketch showing proposed location of the Disable Parking <br />Space. <br /> <br />Another request was discussed to add six (6) parking meters on the east side of Melville <br />Ave, south of the four (4) existing parking metered spaces located south of the alley. It <br />has been determined that the location of this request is zoned as residential per our <br />Municipal Code, and therefore would not qualify for new parking meters. <br /> <br />3. Forsyth Blvd and Lindell Blvd intersection. <br /> <br />At the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, the request to review the sight <br />distance at the intersection of Forsyth Blvd with Lindell Blvd was discussed. The <br />Commission requested a traffic analysis to determine the feasibility of an all way Stop <br />Sign control at this intersection to alleviate the issue. <br /> <br />The criteria to warrant a stop sign at this location were reviewed. The University City <br />Police Department (UCPD) reported that from 2009 to date there were six (6) reported <br />traffic accidents at the intersection. One of the warranting criteria for a stop sign is a <br />www.ucitymo.org 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
