<br />Meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees for the University City Public Library for <br />January 11, 2012. <br /> <br />Attendance <br />Members Present: <br /> Serena Jones, Joy Lieberman, Luise Hoffman, Larry Nolan, David <br />Stokes, William Baldwin, Susan Glassman , Deborah Arbogast <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> Beth Ostroff, excused <br /> <br />City Council Liaison: <br />Steve Kraft <br /> <br />Library Staff: <br />Patrick Wall-Director, Christa Van Herreweghe <br /> <br />___________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />The meeting of the University City Public Library was called to order at 5:16 PM by Larry <br />Nolan, President <br /> <br />Minutes <br />The minutes from the December meeting were approved. <br /> <br />Correspondence <br />End of year donations included: $100 from Jessica Freiedlander <br />$1000 for adult fiction from Warren and Sharon Danziger <br />$100 from Jane Miller in memory of her son-used to purchase 2 jazz CDs <br />$500 from Kay and Leo Drey in memory of Ernest Stix <br />Thank you notes from Operation Food Search for donations. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Friends met on January 10, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />February 10 has been set for Staff Appreciation Day <br /> <br />In conjunction with the Historical Society, a talk about U.S. Grant by Pam San Flippo <br />will be scheduled <br /> <br /> <br />(full report attached) <br /> <br />Circulation is reported to be down by 11% as of December 11, 2011. The catalog system <br />was down for a full day during this time period- the provider furnished several reasons <br />for the crash and the library is going to swap out a $250 switch. Additionally, the library <br />was closed one extra day in 2011 <br /> <br /> There has been an increase in e-books as well as time spent educating patrons on the use <br />of the e-book devices. <br /> <br />Tina and Patrick are to meet about the budget <br /> <br />Chairs in the library may be replaced with either an armchair style for $800-1000 or a <br />different style. Additionally, the chairs could be recovered <br /> <br />
