Session 1661, Minutes <br />March 18, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Picnic Liquor License - Our Lady of Lourdes (#2). Approval was recommended of the annual picnic <br />license for the PTA carnival on May 19, 1996, at Our Lady of Lourdes, 7157 Northmoor. The event <br />has taken place for soveral years without negative consequences. <br /> <br />Tone Alert System (#$). Invitations to bid on the purchase and installation of a Tone Alert System for <br />communication between the dispatch center and both fire stations were sent to three vendors, with the <br />following response: <br /> <br />St. Louis Electronics <br />Warner Communications <br /> <br />$9,386.00 <br />$5,040.00 <br /> <br />This is the first step in a fully automated, computer aided dispatch system, which will result in improved <br />timeliness and more aocurate response. Budgeted amount was $3,000, but additional funds are available <br />in other equipment accounts where expenditures are less than anticipated. Acceptance of Warner Com- <br />munications' low bid of $5,040 was recommended. <br /> <br />Interior Painting - Fire Engine House #1 (#4). On February 26, 1996, Council approved the bid of <br />McCarthy Painting for this project, which was budgeted at $6,000; however, McCarthy is unable to meet <br />the City's insurance requirements. The bids received were as follows: <br /> <br />Leicht Painting <br />Herbster-Hellwig Painting <br />Bazan Painting <br />Jos. Ward Painting <br />McCarthy Painting <br /> <br />$8,700.00 <br />$8,642.00 <br />$7,065.00 <br />$6,975.00 <br />$6,578.00 <br /> <br />Acceptance of the bid of $6,975 from Jos. Ward Painting was recommended. <br /> <br />Loop Parking Garage Soil Tests (#5). Bids were solicited and received from the following companies <br />for soil testing at the Loop parking garage site to determine foundation requirements: <br /> <br />Midwost Testing, Inc. <br />Reitz & Jens, Inc. <br />Soil Consultants, Inc. <br /> <br />$6,970.00 <br />$6,750.00 <br />$6,475.00 <br /> <br />The low bid of $6,475 from Soil Consultants, Inc. was accepted as an emergency purchase in order to <br />move ahead promptly with the project. The City Manager asked that Council ratify this decision. <br /> <br />Tee Renovation (#6). Bids on tee renovations (budgeted at $8,500) for the Park Department were re- <br />ceived as follows: <br /> <br />~ Munie Outdoor Services $9,581.17 <br /> <br /> <br />
