University City’s Commission for Access and Local Original Programming
(CALOP) is accepting grant applications
from independent filmmakers
interested in developing 30- or 60-minute film projects on art, history and culture.
Special consideration will be given to U. City themes and for unique subject
matter. The application deadline is Friday, January 12, 2007. To increase the
potential of funding, applicants are strongly encouraged to review granting
background and criteria online: www.ucitymo.org Community Programs and
Grants CALOP. CALOP’s five-year plan is also available online – an ideal
starting point to determine if your project meets its mission. Applications may be
downloaded from the above website. Since 1981, CALOP has awarded more
than $1.8 million in grants to more than 200 independent film producers. Created
to insure cablecast of local programming of interest to its citizens, CALOP is the
only municipal funder of local programming in the nation. A number of CALOP-
funded projects have won national and international awards of excellence.

The City of University City wraps up its year-long Centennial Celebration with a
collection of colorful quilts on display November 27 - December 29 in the City
Hall rotunda.
