Request to extend hours of Parking Restriction in front of 7337 Forsyth Blvd.

Ms. Colleen Thompson business owner at Colleen’s Cookies LLC located at 7337 Forsyth
Blvd presented her request. Per Ms. Thompson, the congested parking situation on
Lindell Blvd. near Forsyth Blvd. mainly due to student parking inconveniences her
business since on-street parking is very rarely available in the morning hours. Ms.
Thompson’s customers may arrive before 9 a.m. for pick-ups and they may need to carry
bakery trays for a long walking distance to their vehicles, if they do not have available
parking near Ms. Thompson’s store. Therefore she is requesting modification of the
parking restriction on Forsyth to extend the parking-restricted time window from 9am-6pm
to 6am-6pm for better utilization of these pick-up/drop-off delivery parking spaces.

Councilmember Crow asked Ms. Thompson if the property owner/landlord was aware of
her request and Mrs. Thompson responded affirmatively and in fact, the property owner
recommended that she bring this matter to the City’s attention.

No action/decision was taken. The item was postponed to the next Traffic Commission
meeting on June 13, 2012. Mrs. Gutierrez explained that The Public Works and Parks
Department recommends the change of hours from 9am-6pm to 6am-6pm only on the two
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Delivery parking spaces.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Angelica Gutierrez, Public Works Liaison
Traffic Commission Minutes – May 9, 2012 Page 1
