<br />Meeting Minutes–University City Green Practices Commission <br />March 8, 2012–REVISED MAY 14, 2012 <br />Location:University City Hall, Lower Level EOC Room <br />Attendees:Dianne Benjamin, Jerry Breakstone,Lynnette Hicks, Tim Michels, JeffreyMishkin, Neville <br />Rapp, Lois Sechrist <br />Absent:Lynn Ricci <br />1.Opening Round: <br />a.A thank you letter to Linda Fried was signed by all Commission members. Lois will draft a thank <br />you letter to Donna Leach-Heimos. <br />b.Tim gave an update of the Energy/ Renewable Energy ordinance. <br />2.Administrative items: <br />a.The February 9, 2012minutes were approvedas amended. <br />b.Next meeting date:April 12,6:3000pm–8:007:30p.m., University City Hall, Lower Level EOC <br />Room.RSVP if you cannot attend so we can determine in advance if we will havea quorum. <br />c.The New Member Packetwas reviewed by Lynnette, with the recommended changes from the <br />February meeting incorporated.The final packet will be issued at the April meeting. Send any <br />further changes via email to Lynnette by April 2. <br />3.Astudy sessionwith Councilis scheduled for August 27. After that, GPC will ask to make apresentation <br />at a Council meeting. <br />a.Lois will work with Tim to prepare the pre-read documents and the presentation for the study <br />session. <br />4.City of St. Louis Sustainability survey: <br />a.What was the cost of the City survey? <br />b.What was the purpose? St. Louis has a grant to develop a long term sustainability strategic plan. <br />University City already has a sustainability strategic plan, so we do not have this requirement. <br />c.Lynnette will draft a response to Mayor Welsch’s request for the GPC to look into a survey for <br />University City. <br />d.The GPC will conduct a new round of goal setting and planning this spring. <br />d.e.Recycling in the Loop will be one topic of discussion. <br />5.Green Practices Brochure: <br />a.No update on the brochure. Lynnette will send the revised version to the GPC members. Please <br />provide comments via email to Lynnette by April 2. <br />6.Energy Audit Report by Lee Palmer and Adam Coats of Allen & Hoshall, consultants hired by University <br />City. <br />a.Lengthy Q&A andcomments. <br />b.Action items: Scope of work is complete. <br /> <br />
