Mr. Glickert stated a <br />number of Council participate in assisting in the Memorial Day Race and at the U City Fair, <br />all of which were a success. He thanked all of the volunteers. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr added her congratulations to the girls’ track team and to Emmanuel Price for their <br />outstanding achievements. She congratulated all high school graduates. Ms. Carr invited <br />residents to the Council Budget Study Session on June 4 and to her Ward Two meeting <br />June 10 in the EOC Room of City Hall. She urged all to vote June 5 on proposition Y, <br />MSD’s bond issue. Ms. Carr briefly answered Ms. Adams previous questions under <br />Citizen Comments. Lastly she thanked Mr. Walker and his staff for providing her with a lot <br />of information she requested on the budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft commented on free and civil speech. He said it was time for the Patch to stop <br />anonymous posts. He stated other successful print media require full name and Facebook <br />account information in order to post. Mr. Kraft noted the statistics that supported not <br />allowing “anonymous” speech. He expected the Patch to change their policy to not allow <br />anonymous postings. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe asked Mr. Walker to set up a meeting with the City’s actuary. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch thanked Mr. Glickert and all members who came to Fair U City which drew <br />about 8,000 people. She congratulated the sponsors of the Memorial Day Run which had <br />over 1,300 runners and was pleased to start the race and give out the rewards afterwards. <br />The Movie at Millar Park drew more than 120 people and the next “Movie In The Park” will <br />be at Fogerty Park, June 13, “How To Train Your Dragon.” Mayor Welsch called attention <br />to a UCity Education Foundation fund raiser at the Green Center, June 2. The Green <br />Center is holding its own fund raiser, June 9. The U City Parks Foundation will hold a fund <br />raiser tour of parks on June 24. Mayor Welsch stated there will be an information meeting <br />June 14 on the proposed Loop Media Hub at COCA. Mayor Welsch congratulated City <br />Manager Lehman Walker who was presented with the uniquely University City award from <br />the School Superintendent, Joylynn Pruitt. She also congratulated all University City’s <br />graduates. <br /> <br />Q.
