She noted there were
two sales tax increases for Parks and this year there will be a partial closing of the pool in
mid August. Reasons given to her for early closing were cost, lack of guards and lack of
attendance. Ms. Carlin said there has not been a public hearing on this issue and felt it
inappropriate. Ms. Carlin also noted for risk management, there should be some one from
the Parks’ Department there at all times when the pool is open. Watson, 1338 Rushmore Dr.
Ms. Watson asked about the City picking up limbs in the area of Rushmore, Malibu and
Briar Ct. off of Canton. Next on her list was potholes on her street caused from the tree that
fell and they have not been filled. Next is a long truck that parks on the corner of Rushmore
and Canton so the driver cannot see around the corner. Ms. Watson would like to have the
City move the truck to a different parking spot. She also noted that she thought her
neighbor was running a day-care out of her house and felt the conditions were not good for
children to be around. Lastly she asked how to get another street light on their street, Briar
Ct, Malibu Ct, Rushmore to Canton as she noted that area is black.

1
