volunteered to do the work of putting together RFPs, to gather information and to manage <br />some of the things the City could do as far as out-sourcing. He would collect data and turn it <br />over to the staff and Council so it can not be said we don’t have the time to do it. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing on the FY 2011 Budget was closed at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing for the 2011 CDBG funding was opened at 7:35 <br />The funding for the CDBG was: <br />Code Enforcement $ 31,000 <br />Public Service <br /> Police $ 25,000 <br /> Scholarships $ 5,000 <br />Rehabilitation of Private Property $ 29,400 <br /> Streets, sidewalks and alleys $ 13,000 <br /> TOTAL $103,400 <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave. <br />Mr. Dockett told of Mt. Gideon Missionary Church’s Feeding the Hungry program which has <br />been very successful. He would like money be allocated to assist them in this endeavor. Mr. <br />Dockett asked for the record, be noted that he was honored in 1978 by Nathaniel Hawthorne <br />School as one of the top ten most famous citizens. Mr. Dockett said he would like to discuss <br />with Mayor Welsch the concerns of the senior citizens. Ms. Watson mentioned that the Mt. <br />Gideon program was not allowed when the City submitted it for CDBG funding several years <br />ago. Mr. Dockett asked that the City look at funding it in the FY 11 budget. <br /> <br />Edward McCarthy, 7101 Princeton <br />Mr. McCarthy also asked the Council to allocate $4,000 for the Mt. Gideon Baptist Church’s <br />Feed the Hungry program. He said it is not a religious program it is feeding the hungry. He <br />said the anti-crime, code enforcement for $56,000 can be received through another grant. Mr. <br />McCarthy would like to apply the money to having the private streets plowed in the City , since <br />the City can’t get it done any other way, let’s use these funds to benefit thousands of people <br />that need their streets swept and plowed, just the little maintenance things that everyone gets <br />in U City. <br /> <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert stated that several years back, $50,000 was given Wellston to finish its portion to <br />pave Sutter Ave in its community. The purpose was to make it a County Urban Road. This <br />road goes through University City, Wellston and Pagedale. It met standards at University City <br />and Pagedale but not Wellston. She asked the City to pursue getting Sutter Ave to be a <br />County Urban Road, since it previously awarded it $50,000 to bring it to standards. <br /> <br />Robert Davoli, 7378 Milan Ave. <br />Mr. Davoli would like for the City to apply for money for the development of a non-profit <br />organization to have a youth program that would help fix code violations in the homes of the <br />City’s elderly. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing for the Community Development Block Grant was closed at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I.
