Meeting Minutes –University CityGreen Practices Committee <br />July 12, 2012 <br />Page 2 <br />4.OldBusiness: <br />a.Energy Ordinance: <br />i.Tim will send an example from the City of St. Louis to Jared Agee. He is searching for <br />examples from other cities; work in progress. <br />ii.Tim has requested feedback from U City’s legal counsel but has not received a reply. <br />b.Study Session with City Council: The plan is to prepare 15-20 minutes of content with ample time <br />for Q&A. Tim and Lois are developing the presentation. One person should make the <br />presentation; all of the GPC are asked to attend to answer questions. <br />c.Goal Setting Workshop was held on July 9. Items to receive the top votes are listed below. These <br />items will be assigned to the seven subcommittees for further refinement and development into <br />action items in the next 12-18 months. <br />i.River des Peres Master Plan in collaboration with MSD, River des Peres Watershed <br />Coalition, EPA, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) <br />ii.Subcommittee Structure/ Quarterly Reporting to full GPC <br />iii.Green Residential Code Update <br />iv.Green Energy Code Update, including energy reduction targets <br />v.Bike Share/ CarShare/ Reduce Traffic <br />vi.Education/ Marketing <br />vii.Community Energy System <br />viii.Focus on Business Owners (outreach, education, compliance): Sustainability; Recycling; <br />Reduce/ Reuse/ Recycle; Loop Businesses <br />ix.Green Master Plan for all of University City <br />x.Comprehensive Master Plan: Parks, Open Space, City Properties; Lighting, Planting, <br />Street Furniture; Design Standards <br />xi.Coordinate Ecosystems/ Habitat with Audubon Society, Parks, GPC <br />d.Format for future GPC meetings: <br />i.Opening Round <br />ii.Review old business <br />iii.GPC members will be expected to review materials prior to each meeting <br />iv.Discuss materials issued in advance; vote on action items as required <br />v.Special presentations <br />vi.Subcommittee work will occur outside GPC meetings, with reports at meetings <br />vii.Closing Round <br />e.Items 4d through 4h (Old Business) were tabled until the August meeting. <br />5.Item 5a (New Business) was tabled until the August meeting. <br />6.Special Presentation: <br />a.A team from Washington University (owner/ developer), William Rawn Associates (architect) and <br />Ross & Baruzzini (engineers) presented the Loop development project, focusing on the <br />sustainability aspects. http://bit.ly/PtNtw2 <br /> <br />
