Session 1699, Minutes <br />June 23, 1997 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE OF ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES, PREMISES AND ALL EXTERIOR PROPERTY, AND ENACTING IN <br />LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER WHICH IS TO BE KNOWN AS "CHAPTER 17, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE <br />CODE' SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, FIFTH EDITION, 1996; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading, <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that the last bill was one that was requested by Councilmember Hardy Ware and it adds a <br />requirement that refuse and recycling containers must be kept behind the front building line. In other words, if it is not <br />collection day, you can not leave containers out in the front yard. Mr. Ware said that there had been a number of <br />complaints about that in his neighborhood and he asked that this bill be prepared. <br /> <br />A bill was introduced by Mrs. Thompson, entitled: <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8332 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO GARBAGE, REFUSE AND WEEDS, BY REPEALING SECTION 14-12 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO LOCATION OF REFUSE CONTAINERS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 14-12. LOCATION OF REFUSE CONTAINERS," BYAMENDING SAID <br />SECTION SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT REFUSE CONTAINERS BE STORED BEHIND THE BUILDING LINE; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that there would be a Council study session following this meeting in Room 6, second floor. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorffsaid that at the last Council meeting, a public hearing was held on amending the zoning ordinance to allow <br />bed and breakfast facilities. Council asked staff to prepare additional regulations. This has been done. Bed and breakfast <br />facilities must be inspected every year. Mr. Ollendorff needs a request from any member of Council to prepare a bill. Mr. <br />Munkel said that he would request the bill. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m. <br /> <br />~" / Leisha K.
