Meeting Minutes –University CityGreen Practices Committee <br />July 12, 2012 <br />Page 3 <br />b.The project is targeted to be at least LEED Silver and is planned to have energy consumption 45% <br />below ASHRAE 90.1, 2007. Lighting is planned at .6 to .7 watts per square foot. Parking will be <br />developed at 0.5 parking spaces perresident. <br />c.The project is a Planned Development Unit with a Mixed Use Zoning Overlay. <br />d.There will be multiple hearings and reviews with the University City Plan Review Board and City <br />Council. University City will issue permits for the entire project, even though part is in the City of <br />St. Louis. <br />e.The apartments will be owned and operated by Washington University as student housing. <br />f.Demolition of existing buildings is targeted for January 2013, 18 months’ construction, occupancy <br />in August 2014. <br />7.Council Report: <br />a.The City budget passed. $1.2 million appropriated for streets, sidewalks, tree trimming. <br />b.Discussion of free parking in the Loop. The “Cicero’s” parking lot will be re-topped. <br />c.Upcoming discussions: Loop Trolley; monitor income and expenditures; Wynncrestapartments <br />are for sale (a large area between Delmar and Olive, both sides of I-170) that could be <br />redeveloped) –the GPC should express interest and be proactive about asking the City to develop <br />a form based code for the redevelopment of that area. <br />8.Closing Round: <br />a.There will be “No Car Sundays” in Ferguson on August 5 and October 7: <br />http://livewellferguson.com/main/events/sunday-parkways/ <br />9.The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. <br />
