6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Missouri Solid Waste Management Law required cities and <br />counties to prelmare and adopt an integrated_ solid waste management plan, and <br /> <br /> ~E~EAS, the St. Louis-Jeffersc~ Solid Waste Management District has <br />prepared an integrated Solid Waste Management Plan ~1 behalf of cities and <br />counties in the City of St. Louis, St. Louis COunty and Jeffers~ County, and <br /> <br /> ~EAS, cities and counties must adopt the District Solid Waste Manage- <br />merit Plan in order to remain eligible for District grant funds, <br /> <br /> NOW, TH~u~, ~E IT RESOLVED that the City of University City does <br />hereby adopt the District Solid Waste Management Plan, and <br /> <br /> ~E IT FORIHER RESOLVED that the City of University City does also hereby <br />agree to undertake within 12 mca~_hs of adoption of this resolution, at a min- <br />imum, the follc~ing actions to implement the Solid Waste Management Plan: <br /> <br />3. <br />4. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Ensure that recycling collection opportunities are available for <br />resi_de_n~. <br />Ensure that yard waste collection opportunities are available for <br /> <br />Undertake an in-house waste reduction and recycling audit. <br />P~cwide ongoing waste reduction and recycling education and public par- <br />ticipation. <br />Provide an annual solid waste management report to the District by <br />March 1 of the following y~ar. <br />Provide the District with two copies of all solid waste ordinances and <br />contracts currently in effect, and two copies of all future ordinances <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is hereby <br />designated as the Solid Waste Coordinator for the City of University City and <br />will act as the official liaison between the City and the St. Louis-Jefferson <br />Solid Waste Management District. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />PASSED this 20th day of November, 1995. <br /> <br /> <br />
