SESSION 1647 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 19, 1995 <br /> <br />At a special meeting of the City Oouncil of university City held in Room 6 of <br />City Hall on Wednesday, July 19, 1995, Oounci~ Joseph L. ;ut__~_ms called <br />the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. In addition to Mr. Ad_ams, the following <br />members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. George R. Cotton <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br /> <br />Mrs. Betty L. ThOmpson <br /> <br />Absent: Mayor Janet Majerus and Councilmember Robert G. Wagner. <br /> <br />Also present was Deputy City Manager Kimberley T~ly. City Manager Frank <br />Ollendorff was on vacation. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~er moved that Mr. Aa~ms he named Mayor Pro Tern for this meeting. <br />Mr. Cotton seconded the motion, which carried urkan/mously. <br /> <br />Ms. Trcm~ly said the meeting was called to consider bids on equipment for the <br />city's material recovery facility. She said 14 companies were invited to <br />bid, with the following response: <br /> <br />Bruce Mooney Assoc. <br />Glen L. Dellart & Son <br /> <br />$ 96,980 <br />$107,210 <br /> <br />AccetYcanoe of the low bid of $96,980 f~-c~¥L Bruce MooneyAssociateswas recc[n- <br />mended. Estimated cost for this equipment was $80,000. State and County <br />grants will provide $75,000, and the increased local share may be credited <br /> <br />Ms. ~-~-~-~ly said the equipment will not be delivered until October, b~wever, <br />the City will still start the pilot program September 11 and a c~-~ercial <br />hauler will buy the recyclables collected until the facility is ready. She <br />said the Mooney firm is experienced, and Mr. Mooney will come to St. Louis to <br />supervise. She noted it would be necessary to have another special meeting <br />on August 7 to oonsider bids on the second part of the project, the actual <br />building. A consultant ha~ been hired to advise the City on this project. <br /> <br />All votedAye. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 5:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Dolores A.
