<br />Meeting Minutes  University City Green Practices Commission <br /> <br />September 13, 2012 <br />Location: Heman Park Community Center <br />Attendees: Dianne Benjamin, Jerry Breakstone, Helen Fuller, Lynnette Hicks, Tim Michels, Jeffrey <br />Mishkin, Neville Rapp, Lois Sechrist <br />Absent: Michael Glickert <br />Guest: Mayor Shelley Welsch, and members of the Bike and Walkability Task Force: Sarah Hanly, <br />Margaret Johnson, Carol Wofsey and Beverly Jane Spudich <br />1.Roll Call at 6:30 p.m. <br />2.Opening Round: <br />a.Neville Rapp  Will report on the RainScape Rewards Rebate Program at the end of the <br />meeting. <br />b.Jerry Breakstone  Updated GPC on the Plan Commissions Master Plan for the City. Andrea <br />Riganti, Director of Community Development, chaired a steering c for Plan <br />Commission. They are seeking a consultant to work on the Master Plan. An RFP for this <br />position will be issued in the next 3 months. Jerry Breakstone will be attending Plan <br />Commission meetings on an ongoing basis. <br />c.Helen Fuller - Reported on the fundraising event on Sunday, September 30th in support of <br />the Bird Habitat Garden at Centennial Commons Complex at Heman P <br />d.Lois Sechrist  Has been asked to speak about University City sustainability besa <br />Green Government Meet-up at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on Saturday, September <br />29th. <br />e.Jeff Mishkin  Attended the Plan Commission meeting in September; attended the USGBC <br />(US Green Building Council) monthly meeting at Alberici on the value of reusing existing <br />buildings; also attended an event at the Downtown City of St. Louis Library which will open <br />on December 9th. Jeff is not certain if it is registered for LEED certification. <br /> <br />3.Administrative items: <br />a.Draft Minutes from August 9, 2012  approved as corrected. <br />b.The next meeting will be October 11, 2012, 6:30  8:00 p.m. at the Heman Park Community <br />Center. <br /> <br />4.Special Presentations: <br />a.Mayor Welsch  Would like the Green Practice Commission input on her presentati <br />th <br />Whitney and Anna Harris Conservation Forum on November 8.
