Thompson <br /> <br />Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff, Finance Director Willie Nor- <br />fleet, and Deputy City Manager Kimberley ~k-~ly. <br /> <br />The public was invited to observe; only the 1995-96 City budget was discussed. <br /> <br />The city Manager referred to page A-3, Property Tax Rate, noting tb~ General <br />Fund tax ($.76) will not r~ to be increased, mainly because of additional <br />money from the local use tax, which is budgeted for t_he first time. The Po- <br />lice and Firemen's Retirement Fund remains at $.02; the Library would like a <br />$.02 incre~_~e to $.32, and Debt Service will be $.20 (instead of $.22). The <br />reserve fund will be about $1.8 million (not including prior local use tax). <br />~he Library tax increase amounts to $54,000, which would fund an additional <br />full-time professional position, cover anticipated expendi~ next year and <br /> <br />General Property Taxes (page B-7). Mr. Ollendorff said there will be an in- <br />crease of about $45,000 in real property taxes, due to new construction. <br /> <br />Licenses. Mr. 011endorff said 630.20 Electric and 630.21 Natural Gas are the <br />largest income sources brute, but Gas is dc~n somewhat due to mild weather. <br /> <br />Charges for City Services. The only major change in this category is the in- <br />crease approved by voters in 640.16 Refuse Collection Fees. All other fees <br />are basically the same with some small increases for inflation. Brief dis- <br />cussion ensued on ambulance fees, and Mayor Majerus suggested pc~cponir~ this <br />subject to Council's next study session. <br /> <br />Inspection Fees ~page B-B). Mr. Ollendorff said an increase in this category <br />could be justified since it is not self-supporting, but he was not recommend- <br />ing that since he felt compliance might suffer. <br /> <br />Intergovernmental Aid.
