COtton <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoc~er <br />Mrs. Betty L. Th~-~son <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmember Jose4mh L. ~mms, Jr., who was excused. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner movedapproval of theApril 24, 1995, minutes. Mr. Ootton second- <br />ed, notingthe middle initial of hisnamewas incorrect. The CityClerksaid <br />that will be corrected priortodistribution. All voted Aye. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus moved the appointment of Ms. Susan Glass,an, 8310 Gannon, to <br />the City Plan CC~m~ion for an unexpiredterm ending January 1, 1996. Mrs. <br />Schuman secondedthe motion, which carriedunanimously. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICe. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said she was very pleased to administer the oath of office to <br />newly promoted officers in the Fire Department--Joseph Rice, Chief Prevention <br />and Safety Officer, and David Gavwiner, Paramedic Fire Captain. ~o~_re was a <br />round of applause after Chief Rice and Captain Gavwiner received the oath. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said Mrs. Schuman was recently honored with the Paoesetter <br />Award, given by the University City School District to those who have affect- <br />ed education in a positive way. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br />Ms. Jennifer Garrett, Washington University student representative to <br />City Council, said the election for a new representative would take place in <br />the fall. She asked about the recycling program for apartments, and Mayor <br />Majerus said the pilot program will start in September and become city-wide <br />in early 1996. Ms. Garrett said she also will be working on safety issues, <br />as did her predecessor, especially in view of the recent murder in St. Louis <br /> <br /> <br />
