6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />~qF~S, killing of our residents due to the proliferation of guns has <br /> reality in University City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, law enforoement officials ~ the State of Missouri <br />believe that increasing the number of weapons and concealing them will only <br />make their jobs more difficult and dangerous, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the vast majority of the people in the State of Missouri oppose <br />enactment of a concealed weapons law in this state, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, s~ecial interests continue to pursue concealed weapons legis- <br />lation, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the people of the State of Missouri themselves are best suited <br />to determine the w~lfare of the people regarding concealed weapons legisla- <br />tion, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the motto of the State of Missouri is "let the welfare of the <br />people be the supreme law," <br /> <br /> NOW ~~ BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of University City, <br />Missouri, urge both houses of the Gem_ral Assembly of the State of Missouri <br />to defeat legislation p~-~viding for concealed w~3p~ns, or send it to the <br />people of the State of Missouri for a vote which will determine if tb~y want <br /> <br />Dolores A.
