<br />Mayor’s Task Force on University City’s Bike & Walkability <br /> <br />6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767, Fax: (314) 863-9146 <br />DRAFT <br />Meeting Notes –University City Bike and Walkability Task Force <br />September4, 2012 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM <br />Location:University City Centennial Commons –Board Room <br />Attendees:John Watson;Beverly Jane Spudich; Margaret Johnson; Carol Wofsey, Linda Fried; <br />Lynette Hicks(City of University City); Sarah Hanly;Arno Perlow <br />1) Approval of agenda <br />Approved. <br />2) Approval of minutes of previous meeting and any admin issues <br />Minutes of June 3approved, subject to correcting typos. <br />3)Report on walk/bike action in U City <br />Sarah reported on the June 2012 Dan Burden event, advised of upcoming workshops on <br />advocacy inJefferson City, the City’s proposed Traffic Study and the proposed roundabout. Arno <br />reported on progress on the 170 greenway. Lynette asked for input regarding capital budget proposals. <br />4)Complete Streets legislation <br />Margaret reported on the public meeting held in July. <br />The Task Forcereviewed the schedule of commission meetings where presentationswould be <br />made, throughoutSeptemberand October and a proposed City Council study session on Monday, <br />November26 at 5:30 PM. <br />5)Master Bike/Walk Plan. Margaret updated the Task Force on the status of review, noting that the <br />first Commission presentation is scheduled for October 23 to the Park Commission. As additional <br />commission meetings are scheduledmemberswill be informed.No publicor neighborhoodmeetings <br />have been scheduled yet. Lynette will check to see if the TaskForce is expected to schedule and/or <br />attend neighborhood/public meetings. <br />6)Future of the Task Force. After discussion, the group decided to continueto meet on an as <br />needed basis.The group tentativelyplanned to meet again in October at such time as the chairs deemed <br />appropriate, probably after the commission reviewsof the Complete Streets legislation. <br />7) Safe Routes to Schools <br />Sarah will remind the schools of the September 19 Trailnetevent at Flynn Park. There will be a national <br />Safe Routes to schoolevent in October. <br />8) Regional Walk/Bike Count. <br />We have been asked to provide volunteers for the TrailnetSt Louis Region Bike/Walk count on <br />September 11 through 13. Linda will take a handwith this to see what we can do. <br /> <br />
