SESSION 1635 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THEUNIVERSITY CITY OOUNCIL <br /> <br /> February 6, 1995 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University Cityheld in theCoun- <br />cil ~of City Hall ohM on day, February 6, 1995, Councilmember Joseph L. <br />~ms, Jr., called the the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. In additiontoMr. <br />Adaw~, the follc~ingmembersoftheCouncilwerepresent: <br /> <br /> Mr. George R. Cotton <br /> Mr. Robert G. Wagner (arrived at 7:35 p.m.) <br /> <br /> Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Mayor Janet Majerus, who was ill. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />F~RCTION OF MAYQR PRO TFM <br /> <br />Mr. Sc/1ocm~r mowed that Councilmember Joseph A~ams be elected Mayor Pro Tern <br />for this meeting. Mrs. Tncm~son seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman mo~ed that the January 23, 1995, minutes be approved as submit- <br />ted. Mr. Cotton seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner arrived at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Rodman, Wa.~hington University student representative to the City <br />Council, said student safety is one of his concerns, and as a result of tb~ <br />forum held last November, he realized there were two issues to confront--the <br />perception of danger and the danger itself. He said it is in everyone's best <br />interest to make students feel and be safe, and he plans to meet with the <br />Washington University Housing office and the Loop Landlords Association. Mr. <br />Schocmer said University City Residential Service has information that will <br />be of help. On another topic, the Washington University basketball team is <br />ranked ninth in its lea~_e, and all are urged to attend the game this Friday. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman moved the reappointments of Mr. Darwin Portman, 7245 Cornell, <br />and Mr. Jeffrey Suess, 7432 Tulane, to the Municipal C~mL,~ssion on Arts and <br />Letters for terms expiring Jar~ary 2, 1999. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Schocmer moved the reappointments of Mr. Esley Hamilton, 7346 Balson, Mr. <br />Paul Strohm, 7026 Lindell, and Mr. Rudolph Schwarz, 6621 Washington, to the <br /> <br /> <br />
