<br />Ms. Riganti stated the Plan Commission was not a natural stopping point and it would go to the <br />Traf- <br />departmental review chart, more items are being brought before boards and commission that are <br />either informational items or requesting action. She stated the scope of this study had not been <br />thoroughly discussed, but somehow the Plan Commission would be involved, whether for <br />recommendation, or as informational only. <br /> <br />Mr. Senturia asked if it would help if the Plan Commission made that request. <br /> <br />Ms. Riganti concurred. <br /> <br />Ms. Moran asked if the study was through the Department of Public Works and Parks. <br /> <br />Ms. Riganti stated it was and there had been internal discussions about how to move forward <br />with the process. She stated they wanted the process to be inclusive and would like to have a <br />committee, not just made up of staff, but those items are yet to be worked out. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr stated that, regarding the RFQ, the study area goes from Washington Avenue north to <br />pretty narrow area. <br /> <br />Discussion among the group about the RFQ <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that on the west it went from Big Bend, east to the City limits, to Loop North, <br />across Leland, parallel to Delmar. He stated they would have to look into a little larger area. He <br />stated the RFQ talked about looking beyond the boundaries. <br /> <br />Ms. Lewis asked staff, in regard to the government money, what they wanted to see from the <br />Plan Commission to move forward in the short-term. <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that the federal government had been given a work-plan at the beginning of the <br />process that had to get approval from Washington D.C. He stated that part of the work-plan was <br />to include the process from beginning to end, ending in August of this year. He stated that the <br />planning grant was for a three-year period and if the work plan could not be adhered to, we had <br />to let the federal government know. He stated that we could not anticipate what would happen, <br />but we had to let them know what issued needed to be worked out. He stated it had to be a plan <br />e <br />they would not have given the money. He stated they also wanted to have public input from the <br />City Council and Plan Commission and input from the community. He stated it was not known <br />if they would stop the grant, but did not think they would do that because they want us to move <br />on and spend the money. <br /> <br />u lose it.
