Staff: No <br /> <br />It was reiterated by the Staff that the <br />redevelopment plan being presented is in conformance with the Comprehensive Plan Update of <br />2005 and the recommendation would be forwarded to City Council which ultimately had the <br />authority to condemn the lease. <br /> <br />Questions/Comments from the Plan Commission and responses: <br /> <br /> <br />-When the blighting issue goes before the City Council, would the tenant be notified and <br />have an opportunity to state their case? Staff: There would be a public hearing <br />th <br />conducted on the blighting analysis and redevelopment plan occurring on August 27. <br />The statutory requirement of placing the public hearing notice in the newspaper had been <br />completed, and it was noted that the tenant would be notified of the hearing beyond the <br />statutory requirement. <br /> <br /> <br />-The Plan Commission members discussed the importance that Dr. Ward be present at the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />The Chair asked if there is a motion to approve the proposal and recommend approval to City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Greening made a motion to approve the blighting analysis and redevelopment plan and that <br />the proposed development is in conformance with the 2005 Comprehensive Plan Update. The <br />motion was seconded by Ms. Moran. The motion was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Halpert stated that an additional item for City Council to consider was that Dr. Ward should <br />be invited to attend the public hearing at the City Council meeting and requested that staff extend <br />the invitation. <br /> <br />Mr. Halpert expressed his concern with the delicate subject of condemnation and recommended <br />that the City move forward in a manner that would not open up further liability. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />tm; <br /> šE  <br /> <br /> <br />
