The rebate program requires that homeowners attend training and <br />feedback on the performance of the project for three years. <br />(3)Helen also mentioned that a significant concern with the River dUniversity City is the <br />erosion of the bank. She suggested that removing the honeysuckle <br />erosion. Honeysuckle facilitates the erosion process and getting rid of it is challenging. <br />(4)Jerry Breakstone mentioned that it would be good to check manuals or plans, if they exist, that include <br />standards to address erosion or other storm water issues. Helen will try and locate an existing best <br />practices manual. Lynnette mentioned that the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) might be a good <br />resource. <br /> <br />7.Reports <br />a.Councilmember Glickert <br />(1)A wellness and physical therapy facility is being constructed on <br />and South. The developer has invested over $900,000 into new win <br />40 people will be employed. The investor has also purchased and rehabbed two homes on Mona. <br />Their staff will live in those homes. The developer may also be interested in the City lot on the <br />northeast corner of the intersection. <br />(2)The police recently did a great job of preventing a flash mob situation of about 200 youth at the <br />Shell Station at Delmar and Skinker. <br />(3)Budget discussions have continued and it looks like the City is in good shape. <br />th <br />(4)A public hearing for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan was council <br />meeting. The plan has been sent back to the Plan Commission by a majorityliability <br />concerns from two private subdivisions in his ward and the need for more clear and concise <br />information on the plan. <br />(5)Council approved a new Ordinance keeping protestors at least 300 feet back from a military <br />thth <br />funeral service. University City is the 4 or 5community within St. Louis County to adopt the <br />Ordinance. <br />(6)City staff is still working with the new Walgreens project tenant. Lois mentioned that she had <br />previously asked City staff if Walgreens would build a net zero <br />location, committing to a 20% energy reduction nationwide by 2020. She asked if there is still an <br />opportunity to ask for that type of facility. Councilman Glickert mentioned that City staff is not <br />aware of that pilot program for the University City location. <br />(7)Jeff asked about the status of Petes Shur Save location and the <br />apartments. Councilman Glickert mentioned that the Petes Shur Save location is owned by <br />Washington University and plans have not been submitted. The District is the new company name <br />for the Villages of Wyncrest. The new owners are making improvements to several apartment <br />buildings and purchased the Commerce building to use as the leasing office. <br /> <br />8.Closing Round <br />a.Tim Michels <br />(1)He enjoyed participating in the Clinton Global Initiative.
