At 6:45 p.m. those present <br />were Paulette Smith, Stefany Brot(Traffic Commissioners),P.O. Shaun Margul(U City Police <br />Department), Arthur Sharpe Jr.(Council Liaison), Angelica Gutierrezand Mariela Tapia (Public <br />Works). <br />Also present were: <br />KathleenWatts, resident at 7364 Stanford Ave <br />Deborah King, resident at 7114 Princeton Ave <br />Susan Terrill, resident at 6675 Kingsbury Blvd <br />Aaron Galarowilz and Sarah Hall, SLU students. <br />Angelica Gutierrezexplained to those present that there was not a quorum; therefore, the Traffic <br />Commission could not make any recommendations and the items on the agenda would be <br />discussed at the next Traffic Commission Meeting. However, the ones that were present were <br />allowed to make comments. <br />Request to reduce speed limit from 25 mph to 20 mph (no tolerance zone) and install <br />1. <br />“Slow Children at Play” signs at the University Park Private subdivision. <br />Mrs. Watts and Mrs. King (University Park Subdivision Trustees) were present and agreed with the <br />recommendation from Public Worksexplained below. This item will be discussedatthe November <br />4, 2009 Traffic Commission meeting. <br />Public Works recommends the installation of additional speed limit signs on the private <br />streets in question to reinforce the legal speed limits.Installation of the signs should be <br />done at the Subdivision expense. <br />2.Request to install a no parking sign on Kingsland Ave at the alley located between <br />Kingsbury Blvd and Washington Ave. <br />Mrs. Susan Terrill was present and agreed with the recommendation from Public Works explained <br />below. This item will be discussed at the November 4, 2009 Traffic Commission meeting. <br />Public Works recommends to approve the request to restrict parking on the east side of <br />Kingsland Ave for a distance of 25 feet north of the north curb of the alley located between <br />Kingsbury Blvd and Washington Ave. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 7:00p.m. <br />Minutes prepared byAngelica Gutierrez, Public Works Liaison <br />Minutes –October 14, 2009Page <br />1 <br />
