It was rec~,~ended <br />that a public hearing be set for 7:30 p.m. Ma~dz 21, 1994, to b~r o~ments <br />on Z~ning Code ~ p~u~ceed by the Plan O~...~sioa that will revise <br />definitions and occupancy l~m~ts. <br /> <br />Picnic Liquor License - Fa~ in the S~mre (#4). Approval was rec~uxended, <br />including fee waiver, for the Gateway City Marine Corps League to sell beer <br />at Fair in the Square. Approval b~ been given for many years as part of <br />this delightful event. <br /> <br />Public Area MowirK] Contract (#5J. Two bide were received for contracting out <br />the mowing of 5.6 acres on 18 parcels of public land. Mid-West County Lawn <br />suhnitt~_ the low bid of $7,470 which is ~na~a for approval. The other <br />bid was $17,000. A majority of the Plan (la~iseion rec~a~Lended ap- <br />proval; city staff does not ccr~Tar. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus opened the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Pack, 8114 Gannc~, was up~osed to tba rezoning because he thought <br />tba business (truck d'k.~:k~.td'dr~) would bother tba middle-age and older adults <br />who live at the apartment cu~plex be owns at 7401-15 Olive. He felt trucks <br />would be in the vicinity much of tha time, ~eating noise and pollution. <br /> <br />The applicant, Gorekin W~hh, FES Delivery, 1155 Francis Place, said his busi- <br />ness is a delivery service, not a trucking oa~x~Ty. Most of the trucks are <br />small and radio-dispatched fhau ~ ~ addr~ but the great majority <br />operate off-p~ases both in and cutside the St. Louis area. There is no <br />overnight thEking; all deliveries are ~ the same day. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked if trucks would be at this location continuously. Mr. Webb <br />note~__ that this is a o~,meruial area, with a 24-ba~/r car wash r~_xt door. He <br />said most of his business is during daytime hours, but dispatching is done 24 <br />hours a day with sc~e f=um his hcee (the office is closed at night).
