APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Caryn St. Clair was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by Ms. <br />Carr, was seconded by Mr. Crow and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />William Thomas was nominated for appointment to the Senior Commission by <br />Ms. Carr, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />Evelyn Hollowell was nominated for appointment to the Senior Commission by <br />Mr. Sharpe, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br />1. <br />Malik Johnson and Sloan Marion were sworn in to the Youth Commission. <br />2. <br />Tom Sontag was sworn in to the Urban Forestry Commission in the City <br />Clerk’s office. <br />3. <br />Mark Barnes was sworn in to the Traffic Commission in the City Clerk’s office. <br />4. <br />Dawn Price was sworn in to the Parks Commission in the City Clerk’s office. <br />5. <br />Sue Ann Slater was sworn in to the Senior Commission by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />H. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br /> <br />1. <br />City Manager Lehman Walker stated he provided the Traffic Commission’s <br />Annual Report update for Fiscal Year 2013, in council’s agenda packet. <br /> <br />2. <br />Bike and Walkability Task Force Report. <br />Margaret Johnson, Sarah Hanley and Carol Wofsey appeared on behalf of the <br />Bike/Walk Task Force. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson, Co-Chair of the Task Force stated that she was present tonight to <br />complete the charge issued by Mayor Welsch, October 2010. Referencing the <br />June 25, 2012, Bike and Walkability Task Force Report presented during one of <br />Council’s study sessions, Ms. Johnson stated that the original Task Force was <br />comprised of nine voting members appointed by members of City Council, a <br />representative from each ward appointed by the Mayor and a non-voting <br />representative appointed by the school district. She stated that representatives <br />from St. Louis County’s Department of Transportation, MoDOT, Trailnet and <br />Great Rivers Greenway were also present and provided invaluable assistance. <br />Lynnette Hicks, the Senior Public Works Manager in the City’s Public Works <br />and Parks Department was assigned to assist the Task Force. Ms. Johnson <br />stated that the breadth of knowledge, professionalism and work ethic of this <br />entire department was. Ms. Johnson stated that a month after the Task Force <br />was formed the City applied for and subsequently received a grant from <br />MoDOT/Trailnet to create a Master Plan for pedestrian and biking facilities. <br />Upon receipt of this grant the Task Force became a part of the Steering <br />Committee utilized to assist with developing the Master Plan.
