<br />Meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees for the University City Public Library for August 14, <br />2013 (special meeting) <br /> <br />Attendance <br />Members Present: <br /> Luise Hoffman, Joy Lieberman, Susan Glassman, Harold Williams, <br />Edmund Acosta, Dorothy Davis, Deborah Arbogast <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br /> <br />City Council Liaison: <br /> <br /> <br />Library Staff: <br />Patrick Wall-Director, Christa Van Herreweghe <br /> <br />___________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />The meeting of the University City Public Library was called to order at 5:16 PM by Luise <br />Hoffman <br /> <br />Special Meeting called <br /> <br />1. Review the conflict of interest policy-Motion to accept procedure to disclose potential <br />conflicts of interest-approved with changes <br /> <br />2. Tax Levy-handout for presentation of tax levy setting. There are unintended consequences <br />from this bill in that if the board decides to roll back the tax rate and the new rate remains for 2 <br />years, it becomes the de facto rate even if it does not go to the voters. Final rates will come from <br />the county <br />for the rate. <br /> <br />3. Pre-bid meeting on HVAC with Bric on September 10 at 10:30 am. There will be an <br />additional site inspection for contractors on September 17. Bids will be available at the <br />September meeting as well as the recommendation from Bric.
