Getachew, Junior Class President of University City High School shall now become a member of the Youth Commission. Mr. Kraft moved to approve the appointment, seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. 2. Katherine Elizabeth Gooch was nominated for appointment to the Youth Commission by Mr. Sharpe, seconded by Ms. Carr and the motion carried unanimously. G. SWEARING IN 1. Abbie Carter was sworn in to the Senior Commission in the City Clerk’s office. 2. Rick Salamon was sworn in to the Plan commission in the City Clerk’s office H. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) Jackie Womack, 7300 Ahren Mr. Womack stated that he would like to present a plaque to Mr. Byron Price for his ideas, hard work, conscientiousness, stubbornness and thoughtfulness. He stated that he has known Mr. Price for a long time and that he has always been consistent in his efforts to represent every resident of University City. Mr. Price thanked Mr. Womack for the award and then read the inscription into the record: “In grateful appreciation of Byron Price for twenty years of outstanding service and dedication to the citizens of UCity, dated January 27, 2014.” I. PUBLIC HEARINGS J. CONSENT AGENDA K. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT L. COUNCIL REPORTS/BUSINESS 1. Boards and Commission appointments needed Mayor Welsch read the appointments and reappointments needed. Ms. Carr advised Mayor Welsch that she had appointed Michael McMahon to the Youth Commission. Mr. Kraft stated that his belief is that he had already appointed Margaret Diekemper to the Senior Commission. Mayor Welsch asked Ms. Pumm to check on the appointment of Ms. Diekemper and to delete the Youth Commission appointment for Ms. Carr. 2. Council liaison reports on Boards and Commissions Mayor Welsch stated that members of the Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board conducted a meeting to work on updating its application form, which should be available on- line in the near future. She stated that although the deadline for this cycle is in February the Commission has voted to accept applications throughout the year. 3. Boards, Commissions and Task Force minutes 4. Per the request of Mayor Welsch the ordinance was read for the second and third time.
