Price t <br /> Mrs. Mary V. Schuman '' <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoamer <br /> 1 <br /> Absent: Councilmembers Joseph L. Adams, Jr., Robert G. Wagner, and Betty L. <br /> Thomson. <br /> t <br /> Also present was City Manager Frank 011endorff. <br /> Mayor Majerus said the purpose of the meeting was to introduce three bills <br /> having to do with the petition on parks that was presented to the City recent- <br /> ly. She said the original bill incorporating the petition (No. 7944) will be <br /> replaced because it had several legal errors in the language. With the con- <br /> sent of the petition initiators, Bill No. 7944 will receive second and third <br /> readings, but will then be defeated and replaced by Bill No. 7947, which is <br /> worded correctly. <br /> BIL FOR SECOND AND THIRD READIN <br /> 1 <br /> BILL NO., 7944 - PROVIDING FOR THE S[JIINIISSI0N T0 THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF UNI- 1, <br /> VERSITY CITY MT AM NIME1'TT TO THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY, TO BE SUBMITTED TO SAID <br /> ELECTORS AT THE GENERAL RTFCION APRIL 3, 1990, BY PROPOSING TO AMEND ARTICLE <br /> XI PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS GENERALLY BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 101 WHICH WOULD RE- <br /> STRICT THE DISPOSAL BY THE CITY OF CERTAIN CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY UNLESS AP- <br /> PROVED BY FOUR-SEVENTHS (4/7THS) OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS. <br /> Bill No. 7944 was given its second reading. <br /> t <br /> Bill No. 7944 was given its third reading. <br /> Mr. Schoomer moved that this bill be defeated. Mrs. Schuman seconded the mo- <br /> tion. Upon roll ra11, the following vote was recorded: AYES: Councilmembers <br /> Price, Schuman, Schoomer, and Mayor Majerus. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Council- <br /> members Adams, Wagner, and Thomson. The motion carried by a vote of four to <br /> zero, and Bill No. 7944 was defeated. <br /> BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> t <br /> f <br /> Mayor Majerus said the following bill designates parkland and green spaces in <br /> the City and includes a list of all the areas to be protected by ordinance. <br /> 1:1001 BILL NO. 7945 - AMENDING s ►. • ai• 2 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ADMINISTRATION, <br /> AND ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECr'ION ¶10 BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2-48.2.
