Session 1510, Minutes Page 3
January 16, 1990
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mr. Mark Gale, 8250 Groby Road, asked if the map referred to in Bill No. 7945
was available to the public. The Mayor said it was being worked on, but would
be finished by the time the bill is ready for second and third readings. She
noted that the map is being formulated in consultation with the Treesavers
group. Mr. 011endorff said several draft copies were available and he would
provide Mr. Gale with one following the meeting. Mr. Gale then said the word
"amendments" is used in referring to the map, and he asked if the Council
could, by ordinance, amend the map and determine that a park was no longer a
park and may be sold. Mayor Majerus said that was incorrect and every park in
the original map will stay that way. The phrase was used in the hope that
the City may at same point be able to acquire additional park property, which
will be added to the map. Mr. Gale suggested that the word "additions" be
used instead of amendments. Mayor Majerus said that would be considered. '
Mr. Dan Lehocky, 7104 Northmoor, member of the petition group Treesavers, said
he wished to emphasize that the alternative version of the bill that the Mayor R'
referred to (No. 7946) was agreed to in collaboration with the Treesavers.
ill7OURNMENT
Mayor Majerus adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m.
06ite a AtileA)
Dolores A.
