SESSION 1520 <br /> MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> May 21, 1990 <br /> At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Assem- <br /> bly Room of City Hall on Monday, May 21, 1990, Mayor Janet Majerus presided <br /> and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br /> following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron R. Price <br /> Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br /> Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br /> Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoaaner <br /> Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> Also present was City Manager Fraak 011endorff. <br /> MINUTES <br /> hr. Aagner moved approval of ttie ;minutes of May 7, 1990 as submitted. Mr. <br /> Schomer seconded the motion, whirr carried unanimously. <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> Mr. Schoamer moved the appoir bLant of Dr. Jerrold Lander, 7838 Gannon, to the <br /> Park Commission for an unexpired term ending January 21, 1991. Mrs. Thompson <br /> seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> Mayor Majarus moved the appointnent of Mr. Mike Tbomay, 5555 Valleyside Lane, <br /> to the Uniformed Employees Pension Board for an unexpired terra ending July lc <br /> 1992. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> Ms. Barbara Kelley-O'Neil, new appointee to the Committee for Access and Local <br /> Origination Programming, and Ms. Elva K. Norman, newly appointed to the Muni- <br /> cipal Cission on Arts and Letters, were given the oath of office by the <br /> City Clerk. <br /> Mayor Majerus thanked the new members for agreeing to serve University City, <br /> and said the Council depends heavily on the boards and commissions for advice. <br /> BION OF SPECIAL GUESTS <br /> Mayor Majerus noted the presence of special guests who have been attending a <br /> national historic preservation workshop in University City, one of only three <br /> locations selected for this honor. She introduced Mr. Frank Gilbert frau t1r. <br /> Natie sal Trust for Historic Preservation. <br /> (we Mr. Gilbert said the group was delighted with historic preservation efforts n <br /> University City.
