SESSION 1529 <br /> MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> October 1, 1990 <br /> At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Assem- <br /> bly Roan of City Hall on Monday, October 1, 1990, Mayor Janet Majerus presided <br /> and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br /> following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron R. Price <br /> Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br /> Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br /> Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schooner <br /> Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> Also present was Deputy City Manager Susan Glassman. City Manager Frank 01- <br /> lendorff was excused. <br /> MUMAugust 27, 1990. Mr. Adams moved approval of the minutes of the special meet- <br /> ing of August 27, 1990, as submitted. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, and all <br /> voted Aye. <br /> September 10, 1990. Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of the regular <br /> meeting of September 10, 1990 as received. Mr. Schocamer seconded the motion, <br /> which carried unanimously. <br /> APPOINTMENT, REAPPOINTMENT €.,. <br /> Mr. Wagner moved the appointment of Dr. Gerald Manker, 8825 Washington, to the <br /> Commission on Human Relations for an unexpired term ending August 6, 1992. Mr. 7' <br /> Schomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Adams moved that Ms. Lisa Van Amberg, 7114 Washington, be reappointed to <br /> the Historic Preservation Commission for a term expiring September 9, 1993. <br /> Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> OATH OF OFFICE <br /> Ms. Elisa Nunnally Wang, recently appointed to the Board of Adjustment, was <br /> given the oath of office by the City Clerk. <br /> Mayor Majerus thanked Ms. Wang for agreeing to serve on this very important <br /> board. <br /> PRESENTATION BY UNIVERSITY CITY BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE <br /> (we Ms. Susan Hopper, representing the University City Beautification Committee, <br /> introduced committee members Ms. Mary Ann Shaw and Ms. Jane Schaeffer, and <br /> said the group wished to honor three businesses that have made special efforts <br />
