SESSION 1529 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL October 1, 1990 At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Assem- bly Roan of City Hall on Monday, October 1, 1990, Mayor Janet Majerus presided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Byron R. Price Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. Mr. Robert G. Wagner Mrs. Mary V. Schuman Mr. Paul E. Schooner Mrs. Betty L. Thompson Also present was Deputy City Manager Susan Glassman. City Manager Frank 01- lendorff was excused. MUMAugust 27, 1990. Mr. Adams moved approval of the minutes of the special meet- ing of August 27, 1990, as submitted. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. September 10, 1990. Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of September 10, 1990 as received. Mr. Schocamer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. APPOINTMENT, REAPPOINTMENT €.,. Mr. Wagner moved the appointment of Dr. Gerald Manker, 8825 Washington, to the Commission on Human Relations for an unexpired term ending August 6, 1992. Mr. 7' Schomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Mr. Adams moved that Ms. Lisa Van Amberg, 7114 Washington, be reappointed to the Historic Preservation Commission for a term expiring September 9, 1993. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. OATH OF OFFICE Ms. Elisa Nunnally Wang, recently appointed to the Board of Adjustment, was given the oath of office by the City Clerk. Mayor Majerus thanked Ms. Wang for agreeing to serve on this very important board. PRESENTATION BY UNIVERSITY CITY BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE (we Ms. Susan Hopper, representing the University City Beautification Committee, introduced committee members Ms. Mary Ann Shaw and Ms. Jane Schaeffer, and said the group wished to honor three businesses that have made special efforts
