She said the noise from boar boxes was prevalent in <br /> many neighborhoods but was difficult to control. Mrs. Schuman said she and Mr. <br /> Wagner met recently with the 8500 Richard Block Unit, and bocan box noise was a <br /> major concern. Mr. Price heard that Hawaii had an ordinance that addressed <br /> this problem, and he asked the City Manager to obtain a copy if possible. <br /> Ms. Beth M. Hunter, 6858 Plymouth, said she was cited for a number of viola- <br /> tions on her horn by a City inspector who wrote the violations while sitting <br /> in her car instead of coming to the door and giving M. Hunter a chance to ex- <br /> plain. She suggested that many other structures in University City, including <br /> sane City buildings, had similar or worse violations than her house. She said <br /> she tried to apply for a law-interest loan and was told there was a two-year <br /> wait. She was dismayed to find out frau a policeman who cited her for speed- <br /> ing that there was a warrant out for her arrest, and when she called City Hall <br /> to take care of the traffic ticket, the person she spoke with demanded $100. <br /> Mayor Majerus encouraged M. Hunter to make an appointment with the City Mana- <br /> ger, since these issues could not be resolved on the Council floor. <br /> BILL FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING <br /> BILL NO. 7972 - PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR <br /> EXPENSES INCURRED IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES ON CITY BUSINESS. <br /> Bill No. 7972 was given its second reading. <br /> Bill No. 7972 was given its third reading. <br /> Mr. Price moved that this bill be adopted as an ordinance. Mr. Schocmr sec- <br /> onded the motion. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: <br /> Councilmembers Price, Adams, Wagner, Schuman, Schoomer, Thompson, and Mayor <br /> Majerus. NAYS: None. Bill No. 7972 became Ordinance No. 5764. <br /> BILL FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> BILL NO. 7974 - FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE CAPTAINS AND FIRE- <br /> FIGHTERS FROM AND AFTER JULY 4, 1990, AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. <br /> A bill was introduced by Councilmember Wagner, entitled: <br /> "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE CAPTAINS AND FIRE- <br /> FIGHTERS AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM AND AFTER JULY 4, 1990, REPEALING ORDINANCE <br /> NO. 5745, AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE." <br /> The bill was assigned No. 7974 and given its first reading. <br /> Bill No. 7974 was given its second reading. <br /> Bill No. 7974 was given its third reading. <br /> Mr. Wagner moved that this bill be adopted as an ordinance.
