TES HARASSMENT"; TO CONFORM <br /> WITH RECENT COURT DECISIONS. <br /> A bill was introduced by Councilmember Thompson, entitled: <br /> "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVER- <br /> SITY CITY, RELATING TO OFFENSES - MISCELLANEOUS, BY REPEALING SECTION 23-33.1 <br /> AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS 'SECTION 23-33.1. <br /> TELEPHONE HARASSMENT' ; AND TO CONFORM WITH RECENT COURT DECISIONSS; CONTAINING <br /> A SAVING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY." <br /> The bill was assigned No. 7986 and given its first reading. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Majerus called attention to a proclamation which declares the week of <br /> October 21-28 Red Ribbon Week, and which affirms the City's participation in <br /> and support of all efforts toward drug prevention activities in the community. <br /> Mrs. Schuman commended the Police Department for displaying D.A.R.E. bumper <br /> stickers to show their support for that program, and also for wearing red rib- <br /> bons across their badges next week in conjunction with school activities aimed <br /> at drug prevention in the schools and community. <br /> Mrs. Schuman moved approval and Mr. Adams seconded the motion. All voted Aye. <br /> RDOUEST FOR LEGISLATION <br /> Councilmember Schoamer said the Traffic Cwt¢nission has <br /> requested that a 20- <br /> mile per hour speed zone be established on Jackson from Delmar north to the <br /> stop sign adjacent to Mooney Park. <br />
