BILL NO. 7993 - AMENDING CHAPTER 34 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ZONING, BY AMENDING SECTION 34-40.3 "PA" PUBLIC ACTIVITY DISTRICT BY INCORPORATING IN SUBPARAGRAPH b THEREOF, A NEW CONDITIONAL USE "RESIDENTIAL AND OUTPATIENT SUB- STANCE ABUSE TREATMENT CENTERS." A bill was introduced by Councilmember Tha pson, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVER- SITY CITY RELATING TO ZONING, BY AMENDING 'SECTION 34-40.3 'PA' PUBLIC ACTIVI- TY DISTRICT BY INCORPORA'T'ING IN SUBPARAGRAPH b THEREOF, A NEW CONDITIONAL USE, NAMELY, 'RESIDENTIAL AND OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT CENTERS, ' CON- TAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY." The bill was assigned No. 7993 and given its first reading. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mr. Wagner moved that Council convene in executive session at 8:20 p.m. this date in Roam 6 of City Hall to discuss legal matters. Mrs. Thompson seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Schoam- er, Thcxnpson, Price, Adams, Wagner, Schuman, and Mayor Majerus. NAYS: None. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mayor Majerus said Ms. Chris Mueller, newly elected as the Washington Univer- sity student liaison to the University City City Council, will attend the next Council meeting on December 10. Mayor Majerus said she has documents on all the issues that will be discussed at the upcaming National League of Cities meeting, and anyone who would like to examine them can get them from her office. Mr. Adams said his son was recently named to the Commander's list at the U. S. Air Force Academy, which is the equivalent of being named to the Dean's list.
