Following a shyly by the St. Louis Coun- <br />ty Historic Buildiax3s C~-.-H~ion, the Historic Preservation Cuumassion cc~- <br />cl,~a that the facade is ~le of the best A~alning examples of the Art Deco <br />style in the St. I~,i~ area. It was also found that Art Deco buildings are <br />more endangered than those of other recognized historic styles, partly be- <br />cause fewer were k~fi]t during the Depression when the style was popular. }~a <br />said imp~ made in the last seven y~s by the former owner in cc~- <br />junction with the Historic Preservation Cu~assic~'s design review process <br />have made the bmilding even Enre val, mhle as an ardqitectul-al doctm3ent. She said the Ou,.~H-~sic~ was not notified that <br />this action was being cc~s~a~red.
