The bill was assigned No. 8133 and given its first reading. Mr. ~ms said zoning violations are occurring c~ the road east of the exit ramp f~um Highway 1-170 north to Delmar, and he suggested the road could he closed off with large concrete planters. Mayor Majerus explained that this which that city w~nts oa~ercial vehicles to use so they do not use Ladue streets. Mr. Wagner asked if the City has sought leged advice on this issue. Mr. 011endorff said a lawyer has been ccr~ul~a who has advised that Univer- sity City does have zoning authority over this private strip of land and police power to enforce reasoPable traffic rules. Mar. Schocmer said that since T.aa]e is having so many prob]~n~ with its ~-.~<st location, and since University City needs more roan for cu~ing, perhaps this site could he shared by the two cities. Mrs. Scb,~an said Council is inviting__ to attend a dive-in party at Heman Pool on Wednesday, June 23 for your~ters entering 7th, 8th and 9th grades. On July 7, there will be a reunion dance at the soccer facility for the same age group. These events are co-sponsored by O~m~hnity Partnership Recreation and the University City Park Department.
