corporations that go bankrupt with lots of cash flow, so his thought was that the attorneys should be <br />able to work this out in two weeks, although he would be willing to adjust it to four. <br /> <br />For the record, Mayor Welsch stated that no one involved in this project had participated in the <br />Edward Jones venture which is located downtown. <br /> <br />Dr. Carr stated that in addition to the letter of credit she has several questions related to the <br />agreement, and wished to ask Mr. Walker if there was a means by which she could convey these <br />concerns to the City Attorney. Mr. Walker advised Dr. Carr to send her questions to him and he <br />would ensure that they are received and addressed by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe asked Mr. Walker if Items 4 and 5 were tied together at the hip. Mr. Walker stated that <br />they were not. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft asked the attorneys if two weeks would be adequate to sort this information out. Mr. <br />Walker stated that in order to avoid having to extend this for another two weeks his belief is that one <br />month would be adequate. Ms. Forster stated that the attorneys’ preference would be four weeks, <br />because in order to get it on the next agenda they would have to have the work completed by <br />tomorrow. <br /> <br />rd <br />Mr. Kraft amended his motion to extend the Conditional Use Permit until the June 23 Council <br />meeting, seconded by Dr. Carr and the motion carried by the majority with one Nay vote from Mayor <br />Welsch. <br /> <br />rd <br />Voice vote to extend the Conditional Use Permit until the June 23 Council Meeting carried by a <br />majority, with one Nay voter from Mayor Welsch. <br /> <br />Tom Schmidt, 6526 Delmar Boulevard, University City, MO <br />Mr. Schmidt stated that as a business owner in the Loop and was in favor of the trolley. He stated <br />that he thought this is an outstanding opportunity to add a family-friendly attraction to the Loop, and <br />that it will also help bring University City into the national spotlight. Mr. Schmidt stated that in his <br />opinion, it would be a shame to waste this great opportunity to raise the Loop’s profile on the national <br />stage. <br /> <br />L. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS/BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Boards and Commission appointments needed <br />Mayor Welsch read the appointments that were needed. She then stated that Council had <br />received a copy of the list of Boards and Commissions and that she would like to know their <br />rd <br />preferences with respect to Council liaison appointments by June 3 in order to announce them <br />th <br /> <br />at the June 9 meeting. <br />2. <br /> <br />Council liaison reports on Boards and Commissions <br />Dr. Carr stated that she is the liaison for the Traffic Commission and wanted to report that the <br />commission had voted to open Trinity in November, although it was not noticed in the minutes <br />until February. She stated that Trinity and the issue of safety had been discussed at their last <br />meeting and in a unanimous vote the Commission agreed that they would like to have this issue <br />brought before Council.
