Mr. Ollendorff said both <br />figures resulted fx~, leaf pickup problems. The us~ml ch~ervation period is six mmths, however, there have been <br />excegtiels for r~monable cause. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoumer moved that this iten be taken fLuu the ~hle. Mrs. Schuman sec- <br />onded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Alter, one of the operators, said they originally applied for the <br />license last August but were told Council palicy requ~es a waiting period to <br />deterre/he haw the business is operating before a liquor license is ~L~nted. <br />He said they have tried to pl~e their pa~, many of wbx]n have rec?aested <br />alcoholic drinks with thair m~]s. ~he license will enable Fitz's to be cce- <br />patitive with the many restaurants in the Loop, be said. <br /> <br />Mr. Price believed that when there was an exueption to the six mmlth policy, <br />the recipient received a beer c~ly license. Mayor Majerus said she thought <br />it was a beer and wine li~. Mr. Price then moved approval of a beer and <br />wine lioense, and Mrs. Tk~sc~ secorr]ed the motien, adding that she has <br />heard only good oa~ents about Fitz's. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff asked if Council is changing its policy to 90 days, or if this <br />is an exception. Mr. Price and Mrs. Tr~a~eon felt it should be considered an <br />ecoeption. Mr. Schoceer said be believed the precedent being followed is the <br />one that Council has granted to those who have held previous liquor licenses, <br />shorteting the u~m] six mc~th waiting period to three srmths. Mrs. Schuman <br />and Mr. ~a~ms also a~z~ it should be ccrsi~ed an exception. <br /> <br />All voted Aye. <br /> <br /> <br />
