this City as good as the citizens want it to be. Ms. Carr thanked everyone for supporting the <br />firefighters and this City. She stated that her hope is that everyone will work to preserve and <br />celebrate the diversity that brought her to University City twenty-seven years ago. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe stated that as a school teacher he was an avid Union supporter. After becoming a <br />principal he remained an avid Union supporter because it is something that he believes very <br />strongly in. Mr. Sharpe stated that he also strongly supports the City’s Police and Fire <br />Departments. As an administrator he too had to administer discipline; sometimes people felt that it <br />was good and sometimes they felt that it was not so good. Yet and still, it was his responsibility to <br />meet out that discipline in a way that he thought was best. So he took responsibility for what he <br />did, whenever he had to do it. Mr. Sharpe stated that as his grandmother would say, “That was my <br />take”. Mr. Sharpe stated that Mr. Walker also had a responsibility and he thought he was right. So <br />if he thinks that he’s right, then I am for you Mr. Walker. <br /> <br />th <br />Mayor Welsch reminded everyone that the Taste of University City will be held on May 8 from 4:30 <br />to 7:30 at the Heman Park Community Center. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that one of this City’s residents, who was a World War II Vet, will be going to <br />Washington on an honor flight. She stated that she has been working with the President of the <br />Chamber and other veterans to organize an event to honor him, as well as other veterans, which <br />will be held in May. <br /> <br />J.
