I <br /> t <br /> Resolution No. 2014 - 35 t <br /> , <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE PARKVIEW GARDENS NEIGHBORHOOD SUSTAINABLE <br /> DEVELOPMENT PLAN AS A SUPPLEMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE of 2005 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City was one of 14 recipients in the country for a combination of U.S. <br /> Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Sustainable Community Challenge Planning <br /> Grant/ U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation Investment Generating Economic <br /> Recovery (TIGER) II Planning Grant for the creation of a Neighborhood Sustainable Development Plan <br /> for the Parkview Gardens Neighborhood area; and <br /> WHEREAS, a planning process that engaged many residents, business and property owners, elected i <br /> officials, City staff, and other stakeholders including the Parkview Planning Partners Advisory Committee <br /> began in early 2011; and # <br /> i <br /> WHEREAS, numerous well-publicized opportunities for public participation and input have since been z <br /> provided, including those public meetings scheduled by the Plan Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, earlier draft versions of this long-range plan were subsequently revised and further refined <br /> in accordance with the Plan Commission; and t <br /> WHEREAS, the updated Revised Draft Parkview Gardens Neighborhood Sustainable Development Plan <br /> was considered by the Plan Commission of the City of University City in accordance with the University , <br /> City Charter, Section 62 which states that "...The plan commission shall have the authority to prepare `' <br /> and submit to the council for its approval a master plan for the physical development of the city, including <br /> the general location, character and extent of streets, bridges, parks, waterways, and other public ways, <br /> grounds and spaces, together with the general location of public buildings and other public property, <br /> public utilities, and the extent and location of any public housing or slum clearance projects, and shall <br /> recommend such modifications of said plan, from time to time, as it deems in the city's interest..."; and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 23, 2013, taking into consideration all verbal and written public comments <br /> received, the Plan Commission approved a resolution endorsing the updated Revised Draft Parkview <br /> Gardens Neighborhood Sustainable Development Plan and recommending to the City Council that said =` <br /> Plan be adopted as a supplement to the Comprehensive Plan Update of 2005; and be considered for <br /> incorporation the said Plan into the development of the next Comprehensive Plan Update; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held two official Public Hearings regarding the Plan on January 13 and <br /> June 23, 2014 and considered the verbal and written public comments received at the Hearings; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parkview Gardens Neighborhood Sustainable <br /> Development Plan is hereby adopted as a supplement to the Comprehensive Plan Update of 2005 by <br /> the City Council of University City, Missouri. <br /> ADOPTED THIS 14th DAY OF JULY, 2014. <br /> /k.62S2 <br /> - i(M/-12124.e,e <br /> - Shelley Wels yor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> C:2;) , <br /> Joie Pu- m, City Clerk <br /> , <br /> i <br />
